Cross-Tinental has been selected by Danubius Hotels Group as their technology provider, installing SHR’s Windsurfer® CRS platform to enhance distribution strategies

BUDAPEST, Hungary, BARCELONA, Spain, & HOUSTON, TX March 2, 2017—Cross-Tinental, a leading hospitality tech consultancy firm, has been selected by Danubius Hotels Group as its strategic technology provider for implementation of a new Central Reservation System (CRS), Windsurfer® CRS, and Internet Booking Engine (IBE) TopSail™, both developed by SHR, a premiere provider of hotel distribution technologies.

“We are very happy to announce this agreement with Danubius, one of the premier hotel companies in Eastern Europe,” said David Orensanz, Cross-Tinental CEO. “By using SHR’s industry-leading technologies, Danubius will be able to access a more complete distribution platform, which includes one of the leading booking engines on the market, offering strong integrations and channel connections all in one place.”

Danubius made the move to enhance their distribution landscape to become more competitive, and to strengthen their direct booking channel. The need to raise booking rates was coupled with the technical challenge of addressing various hotel types, spanning cityscapes as well as countrysides, in four different countries, all while reducing interfaces and replacing them with a more streamlined and innovative software from a vendor willing and able to provide custom solutions.

“The fact that Cross-Tinental has such outstanding customer service and is a leader in consultative services for the hotel industry was a deciding factor for Danubius,” said Bogár Zoltán, Group director of Revenue and Distribution for Danubius. “We need a very strong partner, now and for the future, as we will be launching a new website soon using the new booking engine.”

With Windsurfer, Danubius will also be able to do full synchronizations within the property management system when needed, as well as enjoy wider chain management functionalities. Unique features such as Save for Later and Blended Rates will further assist in capturing direct bookings in a highly competitive market.

"We look forward to working with the Danubius Hotels Group as they seek to enhance their distribution platform,” said Drew Rosser, Vice President of Sales for SHR. “The chain management features of our system in particular will offer the individual properties more guest-pleasing flexibility while maintaining the appropriate level of control over rates and inventory at the corporate level, ultimately helping the company to better reach its revenue goals.”

The new system will be rolled out in 37 hotels under the Danubius Hotels Group brands across Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and the United Kingdom, and are planned go live with the new IBE the end of March, 2017.
