(PHOENIX) – Hines, the international real estate firm, recently joined Cambria hotels & suites for a groundbreaking ceremony at Chandler Viridian. Slated to open in 2017, the Cambria hotel & suites Chandler will feature 136 rooms, a pool with cabanas, fitness room, lounge area and 1,300 square feet of meeting space. The hotel developer is Concord Hospitality Enterprises of Raleigh, North Carolina, working closely with architect DLR Group of Minneapolis and general contractor Layton Construction of Phoenix.

The Cambria hotel & suites Chandler will be located at the northwest corner of the Loop 101/Loop 202 interchange in the heart of the Price Corridor in Chandler, Arizona. The hotel will be part of Chandler Viridian, a 25-acre mixed-use project, which also includes highly desirable office space called The Offices at Chandler Viridian, high-end apartments called Broadstone Fashion Center, sophisticated retail offerings called Chandler Viridian PRIMEGATE and a pedestrian promenade to the Chandler Fashion Center. Also featured in the master plan is a dog park, ¾ mile jogging trail connecting all of the properties, and a large public plaza with high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi – all to enhance the pedestrian experience.

In November 2014, Hines razed Elevation Chandler, an unfinished structure on site and local eyesore, to develop the Chandler Viridian master plan. Chandler Viridian was the last available site adjacent to the Chandler Fashion Center.

“Hines is thrilled Chandler Viridian is advancing as planned. We have a long-standing commitment and vision for this exciting mixed-use development featuring a modern-brand hotel, dynamic offices, high-end apartments and sophisticated retail that will strengthen the variety of existing uses at the Chandler Fashion Center,” said Chris Anderson, managing director and local city leader for Hines.

“The City is excited to see significant progress continuing at Chandler Viridian. We believe the mix of uses, including the multifamily development, hotel and restaurants, all enhance the City’s sense of place, which will help contribute to the viability of the office project. We look forward to seeing that project begin soon as we see this as a magnet for employers and employees that want to be in the heart of the Price Corridor,” said Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny.

Cambria hotels & suites are designed to provide a unique and distinctive experience with the services and amenities that travelers demand, including chic décor, flexible spaces for meeting or socializing, stunning standard rooms that feel like an upgrade, and free Wi-Fi – allowing guests to stay fully connected while they travel.

“We’re elated to partner with Hines and Concord Hospitality Enterprises to bring Cambria hotels & suites to Chandler, Arizona,” said Michael Lusick, vice president of upscale operations at Choice Hotels. “The Chandler property represents another example of Cambria’s rapid expansion across the country, where we can provide an upscale offering suited for the needs of both business and leisure travelers.”

Like all Cambria hotels, the Chandler property will feature the contemporary bistro Social Circle™, serving a menu comprised of local specialties created by chef Michael DeMaria; liquor, wine and local craft beers; freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches; and a barista bar.

“While we have developed many hotels during the past 30 years, it is a special privilege to team with friends and respected colleagues from Choice Hotels and Hines to bring the Cambria vision to life in Chandler,” said Kevin McAteer, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Concord Hospitality Enterprises.
