September 15, 2014 

As of 9/15/14, asbestos remediation at the site is under way in preparation of construction.

November 12, 2013

On 11/12/13, a representative from the city of Gloucester (MA) stated the project is under appeal. Construction of the actual development never started. Windover Development LLC is the general contractor.

November 11, 2013

As of March 2013 the project was approved by the city council. In the summer work began on the water and sewer pipes that the developer promised to fix and add more if the project were to move forward.

December 12, 2012

This project is referred to as the Beauport Gloucester Hotel.

December 12, 2012

On 12/12/12, a representative from the city of Gloucester stated that this project had not yet started. It is currently in review by the conservation department.

August 8, 2012

On 8/8/12, the developer for this project filed architectural plans for this project with the Gloucester (MA) City Council. This project is currently under review by the state of Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. The permitting process is anticipated for completion by the end of 2012, with a construction timeline of 13 to 16 months.

February 7, 2011

The city council will discuss the rezoning of the site on 2/8/11.

On 2/7/11, Richard W. Griffin Architect stated that the project will likely go out to bid sometime in 2012.

July 16, 2010

The property owner, Mac Bell, met with the city to discuss the project on 7/14/10.

May 26, 2009

At a campaign speech on 5/23/09, Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk announced that an unnamed developer had gone under agreement to redevelop the factory.
