Denver and Aspen, CO (May 8, 2023) – Aspen Hospitality, the hospitality division of Aspen Skiing Company officially transitioned the Hotel Born, located adjacent to Denver’s Union Station, to Limelight Denver, effective today. To start, Limelight will implement select programming changes, including adding an adventure concierge and new philanthropic efforts focused on the local Denver community. Over the balance of 2023, additional enhancements will be made throughout the hotel as the property transforms to Limelight. The hotel is the first urban location for the Limelight brand, and joins the existing Limelight portfolio in Aspen and Snowmass, Colo., and Ketchum, Idaho. Two additional properties, Limelight Hotel & Residences in Mammoth, California, and Limelight Boulder are currently under construction and slated for completion in 2025. Aspen Hospitality also recently announced the planned expansion of its other hotel brand, The Little Nell, to Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Now Limelight Denver, the hotel first opened in 2017 and was developed by Continuum Partners, who served as co-master developer of the Union Station Neighborhood. The property features 200 guest rooms, 14,000 square feet of meeting space, and the popular Citizen Rail restaurant. Located in the heart of LoDo and a direct light-rail ride away from Denver International Airport, the hotel serves as the perfect location for the urban visitor, groups, business traveler, or for a quick layover enroute to a mountain getaway.

“This is an exciting day for Aspen Hospitality as we, in partnership with Continuum Partners, officially introduce the first urban location to the Limelight portfolio,” said Alinio Azevedo, Chief Executive Officer, Aspen Hospitality. “We are focused on new markets that align with the brand’s deep-seated sense of curiosity and community, and gives our team members the opportunity to work across varied geographies. Denver has long been a city that attracts those seeking the adventure lifestyle in a thriving city environment, making it an ideal location. Additionally, Continuum has done a tremendous job creating a high-quality hotel that perfectly aligns with Limelight’s vision for its first urban property.”

The pet-friendly Limelight Denver boasts several complimentary programs for guests to enjoy – and more – which can be facilitated by the property’s adventure concierge. The adventure concierge tailors a custom itinerary to meet all senses of adventure from taking advantage of the property’s partnerships with the neighboring Museum of Contemporary Art, Colorado Athletic Club, or Aspire Tours, to mapping a ride for guests on the complimentary bikes.

Making an Impact in Local Communities

A fundamental mission of the Limelight brand is to connect itself deeply and meaningfully to the communities in which it operates. That “commitment to place” is reflected in how Limelight’s employees and management team approach philanthropy, with the belief that a healthy community makes for happier employees and guests. In addition to paid volunteer days for all employees, each hotel has a local community fund that is governed by hotel staff, which provides grants for the betterment of the community. Aspen Hospitality – with the help of Limelight Hotels, its guests, and its employees – has collectively donated more than $5 million since the first foundation’s inception 25 years ago. Limelight Denver will continue this tradition and establish a community fund and mission with the valued opinion and input of its employees.
