GRAND RAPIDS, MI – February 20, 2019 – AHC+Hospitality announces today the appointment of Lindsay Jarvis as general manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown, opening summer 2019. In her new role, Jarvis will oversee daily operations of the modern 160-room hotel.

“Lindsay’s decade of experience at the Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton, one of Grand Rapids’ most esteemed hotels, coupled with longstanding roots in the community and formal education in hospitality business make her the ideal candidate to successfully open and establish the Hyatt Place brand in downtown Grand Rapids,” said Rick Winn, president, AHC+Hospitality.

Born and raised in Grand Rapids and a graduate of Michigan State University, Jarvis began her career with AHC+Hospitality in 2008 as a front desk agent at the Amway Grand Plaza. Since then, she’s excelled in front-of-house manager and director-level roles where she was responsible for guest satisfaction, streamlining operational efficiencies and motivating staff.

A key player in Amway Grand Plaza’s transition from Preferred Hotels & Resorts affiliation to Hilton Worldwide, Jarvis’ role was integral in the hotel being recognized as Hilton’s “Conversion of the Year.” Jarvis is an active member in the Grand Rapids community, serving as Chair of Development & Education on the Women in Leadership Grand Rapids Board. In 2018, she was appointed to the Alumni Board of Directors for the School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University.

“My ultimate goal is for Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown to embody the Midwestern hospitality values I grew up with and reflect the city’s distinct charm,” said Jarvis. “Leading the downtown Hyatt Place in Grand Rapids as general manager is an exciting new venture and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.”

The first of its kind in downtown Grand Rapids, Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown will feature three meeting spaces and an onsite restaurant with complimentary breakfast for ‘World of Hyatt’ loyalty members. The casual, uncomplicated atmosphere forgoes the traditional front desk agent position and introduces a “host” that also doubles as a bartender and barista to further enhance the personalized experience.
