May 23, 2014 - SAHIC 2014, The 7th annual South American Hotel Investment & Tourism Conference 2014 ( to be held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Quito, Ecuador September 15-16, 2014, has confirmed that Eric Danziger will be featured as the Conference's first "Inspirational Industry Icon" keynote speaker.

Before an audience of hospitality executives and investors in South America, Danziger will speak about his experience in the industry, his vision on the development of the region, and his perspectives about challenges in the continent.

"Eric Danziger's presence at our Conference adds even more value to the two-day event," states Arturo Garcia Rosa, president of the SAHIC. "Danziger's experience in our industry, and his own personal reflections will bring a more personal and human quality to the keynote address. As an 'inspirational icon' he will be speaking from the perspective of the person in the business rather than from the perspective of the business itself. Danziger will share anecdotes of how the business has intertwined with his personal thoughts, dreams, concerns, family responsibilities, and his vision for the future."

It was only a few days after receiving his "One Million Miles Traveled" plaque from United Airlines that Danziger, 42 years into his career in hospitality, made an important change in his professional path, towards a preferred work-life balance.

Until March 2014, Danziger was responsible for the operation, growth, performance and strategic direction of Wyndham Hotel Group, the world's largest hotel company, with approximately 7,190 hotels and 611,200 rooms in 65 countries around the globe. A lodging industry veteran, he joined the company in late 2008 after serving in executive leadership roles for some of the world's most well known hospitality companies including Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Double Tree Hotels and the former Wyndham International. He is currently President & CEO of Hampshire Hotels Management, LLC, a full service hotel, management and asset management group as well as banded lifestyle authority.

Danziger, who is a 2011 UJA-Federation of New York honoree, has been the recipient of numerous industry awards and honors, including the 2005 Northern California Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the category of real estate, hospitality and construction.

He is a member of the prestigious Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council (IREFAC), Urban Land Institute, and the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Educational Foundation Board of Trustees.

"We are honored to have such a distinguished leader to address our SAHIC attendees," continues Garcia Rosa. "And most of all, we are really looking forward to hearing about his professional experience and how that has shaped his vision for the future of the industry."

"We know his presence will be inspirational to the anticipated 450 senior executives from more than 30 countries who will attend SAHIC, and who face so many challenging moments of truth on a daily basis. How great it will be to hear from Eric's personal experience."

"It is both my honor and my privilege to have been asked to give the keynote at this year's SAHIC," says Daniziger.  "In my years developing hotels, some of my most cherished experiences have been working in South America and it gives me great pleasure to see the region opening up to keep pace with the dynamic global hotel marketplace."
