Oct. 02–Houston CityPlace Marriott is now open at Springwoods Village, bringing the first full-service hotel to the master-planned community in north Harris County.

The 10-story, 337-room hotel at 1200 Lake Plaza Drive, next to the CityPlace Plaza, represents a third hospitality offering in Springwoods Village, along with Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott. The hotel, which brings SwitcHouse — Plates and Pours restaurant, is in walking distance to Exxon Mobil, Southwestern Energy and upcoming campuses for ABS and HP.

"We are excited to open our doors to visitors, area residents and employees, expanding the hospitality lineup in Springwoods Village," Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village general manager Mark Sampsell said in an announcement. "With its unique design, a fantastic restaurant, beautifully appointed guest rooms and plentiful events space overlooking the lake system, we hope our hotel becomes the destination of choice in North Houston for many years to come."

Woodbine Development Corp. broke ground on the hotel in March 2017. Aimbridge Hospitality manages the hotel, which was built by Austin Commercial. Gensler is the architect and interior designer.

"Houston CityPlace Marriott is our third Marriott project inside Springwoods Village, but it's the first full-service destination for the community, which means this upscale hotel serves to diversify and enhance the area's hospitality offerings," Woodbine Development managing partner and chief development officer King Scovell said. "Because the design, d?cor and restaurant and bar experiences have been inspired by the local railroad history and natural surroundings, this property has a true sense of place and gives locals and visitors a memorable place to meet, dine and stay."

Springwoods Village is near Interstate 45, the Hardy Toll Road and the Grand Parkway just south of The Woodlands.
