Hotel industry demands better broadband and entertainment technology to enhance guest satisfaction
London, UK, 27 September 2013: More than four fifths of the UK's leading hotels (82%) have received guest complaints due to the lack of innovative technology on their premises. This is one of the findings from research carried out by Guest-tek™, the world's largest provider of IP-based technology solutions for the hospitality industry.
"Our research reveals the vast majority of high-end UK hotels are not meeting the demands of their guests for appropriate levels of technology and internet services," says Charly Tomkys, EMEA Sales Manager at Guest-tek. "From speaking with hoteliers, it's also very clear that the technology services they provide is vital to their guests - so the need for the most innovative technology is of paramount importance."
Almost nine in ten IT professionals surveyed in luxury hotels across the country (86%) believe guests would be more satisfied with their stays if the hotel offered the optimal High Speed Internet (HSIA) solutions on the market today. More than three quarters of respondents (76%) also feel that providing the most up-to-date HSIA is absolutely vital, as their guests expect the latest technology.
To meet this demand, Guest-tek is launching its market leading in-room technology and IP-based internet solutions to the UK market. The company currently delivers technology solutions and support to client hotels in 38 countries.
"Hotels are faced with the huge task of keeping up with the home internet experience," says Charly. "With the majority of a hotel's technology reliant on their network, a robust and top of the range HSIA solution has never been more critical. Guest-tek understands this need and offers the high-level in-room technology and interactive entertainment services UK hotel guests are demanding."
