Helsinki's Hotel Kämp Installs Scala Hospitalitys Integrated Management Information Solution,
Offers Flexible Multinational Features
Finland, Helsinki (May 9, 2000) - Scala Hospitality, a division of Scala Business Solutions N.V., today announced that Hotel Kämp has gone live with Scala Hospitalitys Integrated Management Information Solution (IMIS) for their back office business processes.

One of the key reasons Hotel Kämp chose Scala Hospitality was due to the flexible multinational features of IMIS - including support for multiple languages and currencies.  The Scala Hospitality solution was well suited to meet the demands of an international environment.

We needed a state-of-the-art system that was specifically designed for our industry and could handle the interfaces between the different front office and back office systems, especially for processes such as revenue transfer, electronic payments and city ledger invoices, said Mette Erdman, Director of Finance for Hotel Kämp.
Hotel Kämp is currently using Scala Hospitalitys General Ledger, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and RPT (Reporting and Planning Tool).  The system runs on Windows NT with six concurrent users.

We are very pleased with the implementation and Scala Hospitalitys knowledgeable consultants, said Erdmann.

About Integrated Management Information Solutions (IMIS) IMIS is a combination of integrated financial systems, software applications and consultation services that streamlines operations and maximizes efficiency throughout the entire hospitality business cycle.

Scala Hospitalitys IMIS allows users to:

  • Integrate Property Management Systems (PMS), Point Of Sale (POS) systems and back office systems
  • View and analyze all aspects of each propertys financial performance in real-time
  • Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts with up-to-the second information
  • Eliminate duplicate data entry
  • Operate in a virtually paperless environment
  • Reduce overhead
The original Hotel Kämp opened its doors in November 1887, named after its founder and celebrated restaurateur, Carl Kämp. After faithful and extensive restoration the hotel was re-opened in May 1999.

It is located in the very heart of the city at Pohjoisesplanadi with its neo-classical architecture, designer shops and verdant park. It is within a few minutes walk of the harbour and close to all major cultural sites. Hotel Kämp is part of the Luxury Collection of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
