OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS (May 5, 1999). � William Gilchrist,
Director of Marketing at Oak Brook Hills, a Dolce conference resort, has
been elected to the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) 1999-2000
International Board of Directors. Founded in 1972, Meeting Professionals
International was founded by a small group of farsighted individuals who
saw the need for an organization rooted in the pursuit of quality education
for meeting management professionals. Now boasting over 16,000 members
worldwide, MPI is the pivotal force in positioning meetings as a primary
communication vehicle and a critical component of an organization�s success.
Gilchrist has been an MPI member since 1985 and was a Chair of the organization�s
International Chapter Leadership Committee in 1998-1999. He was elected
to the 22-member International Board of Directors by the Council of Chapter
Presidents to act as their board representative.
Gilchrist began his career with Dolce International, management company
of Oak Brook Hills, in 1990 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Hamilton
Park, a Dolce Conference Hotel in Florham Park, New Jersey. From 1990-1995,
he was an integral part of positioning Hamilton Park as one of the top
conference hotels in the country. After, he joined the Dolce International
Corporate Headquarters in Montvale, New Jersey as National Sales Director
of the Eastern Region. In 1996, he moved to Dallas to develop the Dolce
International Central Region Sales Office, now based at Oak Brook Hills.
There he enjoys the dual role of Regional Sales Director and Director of
Marketing for the 384-room conference resort.
