Los Angeles, May 4, 1999- Efrem Harkham, chairman and CEO
of Luxe Worldwide Hospitality announced today the appointment of William
J. Canavan as Vice-President of Business Development. Mr. Canavan
is the second major addition to the Senior Management team since the formation
of Luxe Hospitality Corporation in January.
As VP of Business Development, Mr. Canavan will be responsible for developing and signing up new hotels for the rapidly growing Luxe Worldwide Hospitality as well as contacting key corporate travel planners and major travel agencies on the East coast for bookings. His area of responsibility includes the U.S. market, the Caribbean, Ireland and Scotland. "He is a visionary in our field and a man with 35 years of experience in the travel industry. Bill brings credibility and leadership to Luxe Worldwide Hospitality which reinforces our position in the global marketplace," according to Efrem Harkham, chairman and CEO of Luxe Worldwide Hospitality. Mr. Canavan comes to Luxe Worldwide Hospitality from after spending ten years at different divisions of Utell International. Most recently, he was Director, Resort Development for RezSolutions where he generated hotel clients in the Caribbean and North America. Prior to that, Mr. Canavan served as Executive Vice President for Robert Reid Associates, with duties including management of a large sales staff, establishment of marketing and advertising strategies for new resort properties and development of new hotel clients globally. In addition to almost twenty years of hotel management experience, Mr. Canavan began his career in the travel industry at Pan American World Airways and then moved to Air Jamaica, holding senior managerial positions at both airlines. Luxe Worldwide Hospitality, based in Los Angeles, is a privately held, diversified hospitality organization providing global reservations, marketing, and management services and franchise affiliation. The company represents more than 200 upscale hotels internationally and will be providing a unique franchise system for independent, upscale boutique hotels offering guests a more intimate and personalized experience. |
