 BestCheque Available to Travel Agents
Doing Business with Best Western

PHOENIX, April 21, 1 999-The eagerly anticipated all-commissions payment program, BestCheque, is now available to travel agents who do business with Best Western International. BestCheque combines commission payments from Best Western reservations and offers one convenient monthly check for travel agents.

Whether made through a GDS using the "BW" code, the Best Western Web site, property direct or Best Western's central reservations office, travel agents will no longer need to manually track their commissions. Each month travel agents will receive a consolidated statement listing each reservation and property name, along with one check for all bookings. A fee of 50 cents per reservation will be charged for this service which will be reflected on the monthly statement in a column titled "Adjusted Amount."

"We are constantly trying to improve our relationships with travel agents," says Hubert Tupay, manager of Corporate and Travel Agency Marketing for Best Western. "The goal of this program is to increase agents' confidence and make it easier to ensure timely payments for Best Western bookings."

The program is currently available to all travel agents booking North American properties. Best Western has made this program available for international properties, with roll-out commencing in May of this year.

For information about the BestCheque program or questions about the monthly statement, call the Best Western Travel Agent Help Desk at 800/334-7234.

Best Western International is a membership association of independently owned and operated hotels. It is the world's largest lodging brand with more than 3,800 hotels in 78 countries and territories.
