San Antonio, April 26, 1999 The Texas Hotel & Motel
Association (TH&MA) is teaming with La Quinta Inns to help lodging
properties in Texas save energy and natural resources.
Texas is expecting yet another year of record high temperatures and
low rainfall and is addressing the problem during their Annual Spring Conference.
As an industry leader, La Quinta Inns has offered to help TH&MA
educate and train lodging owners in Texas to save energy, natural resources
and money. Jim Ackles, Director of Energy Management & Hotel
Engineering for La Quinta Inns since July 1995, is responsible for controlling
La Quinta's $22 million utility budget and providing preventive & corrective
maintenance guidance to all 303 properties in 28 states. He brings
practical and easy to institute solutions on energy management to lodging
facilities.
TH&MA annually conducts more than 15,000 hours of classroom instruction
and training programs to the lodging and tourism industries. Since
its inauguration in the early 1900s, TH&MA has worked hard to provide
the lodging industry in Texas the support to grow in a professional and
progressive manner. |
