COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 10, 1999 - Red Roof Inns, Inc.
(NYSE: RRI), one of the leading economy lodging chains in the United States,
recently awarded over $16,000 in royalty rebates to its franchisees at
its annual conference on March 8. Red Roof Inns is the only economy lodging
chain to offer franchisees a 0.5 percent royalty rebate based on superior
guest satisfaction.
Guest satisfaction surveys are conducted by Unifocus, an independent market research firm, at all Red Roof Inns. To receive a rebate, the franchised Inn must have 75 percent or more of survey respondents give an overall satisfaction ranking of an A or B for their stay, and state that they will return to that particular Inn. In 1998, four out of the five eligible franchisees received a rebate. They include: Raleigh North Red Roof Inn, Hudson Hotels, owners; Branson Red Roof Inn, Keith Karen Jaspers, owners; Fargo Red Roof Inn, James Flannery, owner; and Albuquerque Red Roof Inn, Gopal Reddy, owner.
