305 Room Holiday Inn-San Jose North to 
Convert to Crowne Plaza(R)
 
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 5, 1999 -  Construction begins today on a $7.5 million renovation that will convert the Holiday Inn-San Jose North to a Crowne Plaza(R) hotel, one of the upscale brands of Bass Hotels Resorts.

Extensive renovations will upgrade virtually every area of the hotel. Floor-to-ceiling remodeling in guest rooms will include new lighting, draperies, bedspreads and floor and wall coverings. The lobby, banquet rooms, restaurant and meeting spaces will receive new carpet, wall coverings, lighting and art. In addition, new furniture will be placed in the restaurant, bar and lobby areas.

A state-of-the-art exercise room will be constructed. Outside, new furniture and lighting will upgrade the pool area. The renovation is expected to be complete in April.

The hotel's 305 guest rooms will offer amenities most highly valued by business travelers, including telephones with two separate lines, mobile executive workstations, coffee makers, hair dryers, and full-size ironing boards and irons. The hotel also maintains professional conference and full- service catering staffs to assist in meeting and special-occasion planning.

Holiday Inn-San Jose North, at 777 Bellew, is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The hotel is operated by Dallas-based Bristol Hotels Resorts (NYSE: BH) and owned by FelCor Lodging Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of FelCor Lodging Trust (NYSE: FCH).
