Proposed 156 Room International Balboa Bay Club Appoints Lee & Sakahara Architects, Inc for Master-Planning
 
NEWPORT BEACH, CA. FEBRUARY 11,  1999 �Lee & Sakahara Architects, Inc., a 20 year Irvine architectural firm featuring hospitality design for high-end restaurants, clubs, and hotels has been signed for the master-planning and architectural design of the International Balboa Bay Club�s 156 room 5 Star hotel.  

The project features a waterfront location on the bay with access to the ocean attracting international sailors, ballroom, private members restaurant and spa, and luxurious guest suites.  

The Balboa Bay Club, long known as a favored recreational spot for Hollywood celebrities as John Wayne, Joey Bishop, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and host for thousands of prestigious events over the years is slated to be razed and totally rebuilt.   

Doug Lee, of Lee  & Sakahara, is the principal designer in charge with a large collection of fine projects to his credit including the Riviera Country Club,  the Marriott Tenaya Lodge, the Phoenix Hilton, and the Copa de Oro Restaurant.
