Rob Danko Named Broker of the Year
at Insignia/ESG HotelPartners

Los Angeles, CA January 1999 At its Winter meeting held here at the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower, Insignia/ESG Hotel Partners announced the recipients of the Broker of the Year awards.  Ron Danko, senior managing director in the Chicago office, was named Broker of the Year in 1998 for his exceptional level of transactions activity and leadership role in the firm's investment sales group.  This was Danko's third Broker of the Year award.  He has been with the firm since 1993.  Highlights of Danko's year included the sale of the Cincinnati Marriott and a multi-market portfolio of Hampton Inns.

The first runner-up for Broker of the Year was John Karver, also a senior managing director in the Chicago office.  Only in his second year in the transactions side of the business, having come to the firm from Omni Hotels, Karver had an extremely successful year.  His transactions in 1998 included the sale of a golf resort in Michigan and the Westin Carambola on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands.

The second runners-up for Broker of the Year were Tom Ives, managing director in the Atlanta office, and James (JJ) Johnson, managing director in the Chicago office.  Highlights of Ives' activity in 1998 included the sale of a Florida resort and a portfolio of hotels and restaurants in the Southeast.  Johnson continued his very successful track record, selling over 15 economy and mid-market properties primarily in the Midwest.  The diversity of product sold by all the award recipients underscores Insignia/ESG Hotel Partners' focus on serving the full range of hospitality properties, from full-service luxury resorts to limited-service economy hotels.
