Oregons Central Coast Lodging Properties Band Together
for Off-Season Promotion

Lincoln County, Oregon:  Oct 26, 1998 - Enticing overnight visitors during the slower, crowd avoidance months, the Central Oregon Coast Association (COCA) today unveiled its first seasonal Savings PlayBook.  Seventeen lodging properties from Otis to Yachats in Lincoln County (Oregon) are providing special pricing and other incentive packages as part of the Oregons Central Coast Fall-Winter-Spring promotion.

Special offers are provided by participating resorts, vacation rental properties, motels, campgrounds as well as local bed & breakfast inns, notes COCA Executive Director, Guy DiTorrice.  Its great to see this commitment from such a wide range of accommodations promoting year-round tourism for Lincoln County and Oregons Central Coast.  This is the best promotional participation weve seen from the lodging properties located in the rural portions of our region.

Visitors receive their Savings PlayBook coupons by calling COCAs toll-free information line [1-800-767-2064], requesting information via eMail [[email protected]] and the Internet [www.newportnet.com/coca].  Offers include pricing discounts or free meals from the participating lodging properties when rooms are booked during the slower parts of this fall, winter and spring.

DiTorrice says the Savings PlayBook offers range from two free breakfasts for each room rented at the Inn at Otter Crest, two-for-one rates for the Lincoln City KOA campground and the Beachcombers Haven vacation rentals in Gleneden Beach as well as three-nights-for-two at the Silver Surf  Motel and Sanderling Bed & Breakfast in Yachats.

As is the case with any promotion, there are some limitations, DiTorrice adds.  Most properties block out winter and spring break weeks, three-day holiday weekends and there are some weekend limitations.  Afterall, were trying to get visitors here during the slower weekday and off-holiday weekends.  Thats why were doing the Savings PlayBook promotion.

He also notes that overnight visitors to Lincoln County need to mention the Savings PlayBook when they reserve their stay, present the coupon upon check-in and cannot combine the promotion with any other offer or discount.  These are generous offers from lodging properties helping us bring visitors to Oregons Central Coast during the slower times of the year, DiTorrice comments.  We want to make sure theres a positive economic incentive with these offers for our visitors and the lodging owners.  Its a win-win program for visitors and the industry.

The Central Oregon Coast Association is a regional visitor marketing organization representing the unincorporated areas of Lincoln County and is funded, in part, by transient room tax revenues collected by Lincoln County.  COCA provides free information for inquiring visitors, travel professionals and the travel trade media about rural Lincoln County accommodations, attractions, scenic features, recreational opportunities and annual events.  COCA works cooperatively with the Chambers of Commerce in Yachats, Waldport, Newport, Toledo, and Depoe Bay as well as the Lincoln City Visitor & Convention Bureau, Oregon Tourism Commission and the Oregon Coast Visitors Association promoting year-round, overnight visitors to Oregons Central Coast.
