Prime Hospitality Corp. Opens 
Two AmeriSuites and Three HomeGates
 
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Nov. 3, 1998 -  Prime Hospitality Corp. (NYSE: PDQ) has announced the recent openings of two AmeriSuites all-suite hotels and three HomeGate Studios Suites extended-stay hotels. All five properties are new construction and feature separate living, sleeping and eating areas.

The new AmeriSuites opened in Phoenix, AZ and Shelton, CT, bringing the chain total to 80 properties in 29 states with 21 under development. In addition, HomeGate properties opened in Las Vegas, NV; Tampa, FL and Raleigh/Durham, NC, resulting in 34 hotels systemwide with ten under construction.

The new AmeriSuites Phoenix/MetroCenter located at 10838 North 25th Avenue in Phoenix is the second AmeriSuites in the city and the third in the state. The four-story, 128-unit hotel is located near the MetroCenter Shopping Complex, and is adjacent to the Cigna corporate office. It is within five miles of other corporations including Honeywell, and 20 miles from Sky Harbor International Airport.

AmeriSuites opened its first Connecticut hotel located at 695 Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton. The six-story, 128 unit AmeriSuites Shelton/Corporate Towers is located in the midst of the Shelton Corporate Center, adjacent to Tetley Tea, and near many corporations including Philips Medical, Black and Decker and Cheeseborough Ponds. The hotel is also 15 miles from Fairfield and Bridgeport Universities, and 20 miles from Yale University.

The first Nevada HomeGate Studios Suites opened at 1550 E. Flamingo in Las Vegas. Located two miles east of the Las Vegas Boulevard Strip, the three-story, 125 unit hotel is also two miles from Interstate 15. It is one and a half miles from the Las Vegas Convention Center and McCarran International Airport.

HomeGate opened its first North Carolina property at 4919 S. Miami Boulevard in Raleigh, Durham. The three-story property has 137 units and is centrally located in Research Triangle Park near many corporate headquarters including IBM, Cisco Systems, Nortel, MCI and Glaxo Wellcome as well as the state's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is approximately 10 minutes from Raleigh/Durham International Airport and is also near several universities including Duke, North Carolina Central and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The first Tampa HomeGate Studios Suites opened at 1805 N. Westshore Boulevard. The three-story property has 132 units and is located in the vicinity of many corporate headquarters including GE, Metlife, AAA and GTE. The hotel is adjacent to Houlihan's restaurant and is within two miles of downtown, of Tampa International Airport and of Raymond James Stadium -- home of the Buccaneers. This hotel represents the third HomeGate in the state.

AmeriSuites properties provide comfortable accommodations with separate living and sleeping areas and a wide array of amenities. Each guest suite features a living room with sleeper sofa, 26" remote stereo TV/VCP, expanded work desk with task lighting, two phones with voice mail messaging, an iron and ironing board, hairdryers, kitchen/wet bar area with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and free coffee. Each hotel also offers "Taking Care of Business Suites(SM)" with additional in-room amenities for the corporate traveler including a plush recliner and ottoman, second phone line with data port, executive chair, basic office supplies and snacks. Other amenities include complimentary bountiful breakfast buffet, laundry facilities, fitness center, an MBE Business Express center and a pool.

All HomeGate properties feature fully equipped kitchens with a full-size refrigerator, stove-top, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. All rooms offer oversized work areas with data port phones equipped with dual lines and direct-dial numbers, and the sitting area features a recliner and/or a sleeper sofa, depending on room type. Special services and amenities include weekly maid service, full linen service, on-site laundry facilities, same day valet service, an exercise room, a pool, and 24-hour front desk staff.
