Holiday Inn Hotels Uses the Internet to Offer Deep Discounts for Last-Minute Weekend Travelers
 
ATLANTA  (Nov. 18, 1998) - Sometimes it pays to procrastinate.  Literally. Leisure travelers who book weekend getaways just a few days in advance can now get deep discounts from Holiday Inn with HOLIDEALS.

On Nov. 3, Holiday Inn launched HOLIDEALS, a deep discount program aimed at last-minute weekend travelers.  Each Tuesday, Holiday Inn posts a list of participating hotels and the rates they're offering on the www.holiday-inn.com website, with discounts available for the coming weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).  Rates offered are a minimum 40 percent off the standard rates, although in some cases, hotels may choose to set the discount even higher.

The company initially expects 200-400 Holiday Inn hotels to participate each week, and hopes to have as many as 400-600 hotels participating on a regular basis once the program has been under way and gains momentum.

To book HOLIDEALS, consumers must visit www.holiday-inn.com to see the list of participating hotels or call 1-888-224-2424 and ask for the HOLIDEALS rates.  After the first of the year, consumers will be able to book HOLIDEALS directly through the Internet site, but initially, they must call 1-888-224-2424 and specifically ask for the HOLIDEALS rates. Reservations agents at 1-800-HOLIDAY will not offer the HOLIDEALS discounts unless prompted first by consumers.

This special offer is available at participating full-service Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Select, and Holiday Inn SunSpree Resorts properties.  Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts are not participating in HOLIDEALS.  The discount is applied to the single-person standard rate; extra person charges do not apply for the HOLIDEALS program.

Members of the Priority Club Worldwide frequent guest program will earn points for HOLIDEALS stays.  There is no cost to participate in the program (no membership fee).
