Lansing, Michigan, December 1998 - A new day has dawned
in hospitality training. Innovision Media Concepts, Inc., introduces
The Sunrise Basic Training Series, the lodging industrys first video training
series designed specifically for mid-market, economy, and budget hotels.
Developed in collaboration with corporate trainers, industry consultants, hotel managers, and front line employees, the Sunrise Basic Training Series covers more than 100 topics in short, training-friendly segments, beginning and ending with simple title screens. This format enables trainers to focus their audience on a specific task or concept, then pause for discussion and training exercises. These short, focused segments also allow effective training to fit into short windows of time which are a reality in todays hotel operations. Priced at $99 each, or $349 for the six-tape set, the Sunrise Basic
Training Series covers all functional training areas: New Employee
Orientation; Guest Service; Safety and Security; Front Desk; Housekeeping
and Laundry (English & Spanish); and Maintenance. Each program
comes with a Trainers Guide featuring content overviews, discussion questions,
training exercises, and a Quick Quiz assessment. Also included
is a Certificate of Completion copy master which can be personalized and
awarded to successful trainees.
Its better than any resource Ive seen, reports Tom Davis, General Manager of the Comfort Suites in Kissimee, Florida. We use it to train our entire staff, from Front Desk to Housekeeping to Maintenance. I particularly like the Quick Quiz assessments and the fact that we can award Certificates of Completion to our staff. At a small hotel like ours, we must empower our people, adds Rebecca Villegonza, General Manager of the 37-room Comfort Inn in Mountain View, California. Sunrise helps us do that by giving my staff the confidence to solve problems in many situations. Its easy to use and very cost-effective. Other companies, such as Best Western International, Inc., are purchasing
the Sunrise Basic Training Series as a core training package. Its
great to be able to deliver a total training package to our members, rather
than a handful of tapes that may or may not work together, remarked David
Rives, Best Westerns Director of Member Operations Support. Wed
have to spend thousands of dollars to acquire the same resources we get
in Sunrise for a fraction of the price. It provides our members with
a great training value. Best Western will take delivery of
the Sunrise Series in January 1999 and plans to build additional titles
around the series to support specific training objectives.
Having developed videos and training programs for the hospitality industry
for nearly ten years, Guy Armstrong, President of Innovision Media Concepts,
Inc., says the Sunrise Series fills a great need for mid-market, budget,
and economy hotels. These are the operators who have the greatest
training challenge, yet it seems that few industry resources focus directly
on them. Sunrise was developed to be an effective, affordable solution
to their day-to-day training needs.
