Blue Chip Casino Begins Hotel Construction;
Jeffrey Doyle Named Manager of Hotel Operations

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind - Dec. 10, 1998--According to Blue Chip Casino officials, construction has begun on the Blue Chip Hotel, which will be located adjacent to the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City.

"We're very excited to begin construction on what promises to be a high-quality property," said Kevin F. Flynn, chairman and CEO of Blue Chip Casino.  "Guest comfort is always top of mind for any facet of Blue Chip Casino operations.  Our new hotel stands to be no
exception. We continue to hold and unwavering commitment to providing our guests with a comfortable and friendly atmosphere along with exceptional service."

The Blue Chip Hotel will offer a mix of standard rooms and suites in a 200-room, eight story, structure atop two levels of underground parking.  The hotel will be connected to the Blue Chip Pavilion where hotel guests may enjoy Blue Chip's two quality restaurants, meeting
and banquet facilities, and enter its 37,000 square foot casino.

"The new Blue Chip Hotel will be a welcome addition to Northern Indiana Harbor Country," said Linda Bell, executive director of the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau.  "We're looking forward to marketing this new facility to visitors along with the other
wonderful activities in the County."

"The Northern Indiana region is already rich in amenities for visitors traveling to this area.  Our goal is to offer another aspect to this destination dimension.  Whether it be a leisure traveler on a weekend getaway, or a conference attendee in search of an effective
meeting facility, the Blue Chip Hotel will strive to meet their expectations and needs," stated Flynn.

In addition, Blue Chip announced the appointment of Jeffrey Doyle, as Manager of Hotel Operations.  Prior to joining the Blue Chip team, Doyle was General Manager for the Holiday Inn  Suites in Bolingbrook, Illinois.  Doyle will be responsible for all facets of hotel operations and report to Blue Chip President Kevin Larson.

The Blue Chip Hotel is scheduled to open in late 1999.  Aria Architects designed the new hotel, and Walsh Construction of LaPorte, Indiana has been appointed project contractor.  Both companies were involved in the construction of the Blue Chip Pavilion.
