Complimentary Fire-Roasted S'mores!

Carmel Valley, CA  September 8, 1998 --  Carmel Valley Lodge, an intimate 31-room country retreat, offers guests a chance to relive fond childhood memories of roasting marshmallows by the campfire. Beginning September 8, 1998, the Lodge provides guests with all the makings to fire-roast their own Smores. Rich milk chocolate, fresh marshmallows, crisp graham crackers and even roasting sticks are provided complimentary to guests each night.

We wanted to offer something different than just your ordinary bowl of fruit at the front desk, said Michael Cawdrey, general manager of the Carmel Valley Lodge. Smores seemed to be the natural choice. Not only are we situated in a country, woodsy setting, but we also feature many rooms, suites and cottages with fireplaces, and outdoor hibachis, and we have a stone fireplace in the lobby area. Guests have a choice of accommodations allowing them to either roast marshmallows in the privacy of their own room, or to mingle with other guests as they gather around the fireplace every evening in the lobby.

The Carmel Valley Lodge is located 12 minutes inland from coastal Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula in sunny Carmel Valleycentral Californias other wine countryand offers a year-round country retreat with private cottages, suites and guests rooms, a heated pool and whirlpool spa, and a 1,200-square-foot conference center.

Owned by Peter and Sherry Coakley for over 25 years, the Carmel Valley Lodge is managed by The Hotel Guys LLC, a west-coast-based hospitality management company.
