Tony Elenis, GM,  of Holiday Inn Select-Toronto Airport Details Renovation

TORONTO, Sept. 14, 1998 -  Holiday Inn Select-Toronto Airport is sparkling inside and out after a renovation costing $C14 million.

This local landmark at 970 Dixon Road just completed a comprehensive renovation, making it even more attractive and accommodating to business travelers. The project, which began in March, made virtually every area of the hotel look brand new, including the guestrooms, meeting rooms, lobby and public areas.

The remodeled hotel features new wall coverings, furniture, carpet, lighting, art work and accessories throughout. Its distinctive Roof Garden Meeting Room was expanded, offering guests a scenic view of the airport skyline.

Active travelers can work out in a new fitness room equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment. Upgraded Executive Club rooms feature two telephone lines, ergonomic chairs, large work desks and other amenities for business travelers, as well as access to a private lounge. The building's exterior sports a new look with colorful landscaping throughout the grounds.

"These physical improvements reflect a commitment to quality which our guests can expect to experience every day," said Tony Elenis, the hotel's general manager. "We work hard to keep our quality ratings consistently high and to exceed guest's expectations. That's why, in 1997 and 1998, Holiday Inn's Priority Club members gave us the Best International Hotel Award."

The Holiday Inn Select-Toronto International Airport is operated by Dallas-based Bristol Hotels Resorts (NYSE: BH). Bristol is the largest independent hotel operator in North America and operates the largest number of Bass Hotels and Resorts branded hotels in the world.

Bristol's more than 120 hotels include nearly 33,000 rooms in 27 states and Canada. They operate in the mid-priced to upscale segments of the industry and are located in 19 of the top 25 lodging markets in the United States. Bristol operates newly 100 Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties and is a leading franchisee in Bass' billion-and-a-half dollar modernization program. By the year 2000, Bristol will have overseen the investment of $400 million in the redevelopment of Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels.
