The striking 300,000 square foot Marmara, Antalya Hotel, located in the country�s most popular foreign tourist destination, will offer diverse accommodations ranging from low-rise villas for large groups to quarters in mid and high-rise towers at right angles to each other.  These will be generous in scale and offer scenic views of the sea or the mountains from most of the 320 rooms. 

The hotel�s ground floor will contain lobby and reception areas, as well as retail shops, a restaurant and bar and hotel office.  The basement level will house ballrooms, a parking garage and facilities for hotel services. 

The 25-story structure will also contain multi-purpose halls, with one having the capability of being converted into a cinema during the cooler winter months.  The main swimming pool will be situated in the courtyard overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, while additional recreational pools will be placed throughout the property. 

The client is KiSKA Construction Co. in Whitestone, New York. Hillier is working with SK&A structural engineers from Washington D.C. (Syska & Hennessey, MEP Engineers). The project was won through a design competition  in December of 1997. Excavation has begun in Antalya with completion estimated in  spring 2000. 

The project team consists of Guy Geier, AIA, Principal in Charge; Metin Celik, AIA, Senior Project Manager; John Mulliken, AIA, Project Designer; and Paul Bellisario, AIA, Hotel Specialist.
