Carmel Valley Lodge (CA)
Appoints Management Group

Carmel Valley, CA June 17, 1998 Peter and Sherry Coakley, proprietors of the Carmel Valley Lodge in Carmel Valley, recently announced the appointment of The Hotel Guys LLC, a professional hospitality management group, for their property.

"For years Ive been recommending that my guests take a little time out to listen to their beards grow," said co-proprietor Peter Coakley. "Ive reached the stage in life and in the growth of the Lodge that I might be able to take some of my own advice." The Coakleys selected The Hotel Guys LLC, headquartered in Seattle, after a review of several management groups.

According to Peter Coakley, "We chose The Hotel Guys because of their focus on bringing in new group and vacation guests, not just to the Lodge, but to the entire Carmel Valley as a result. The other hotel groups just didnt offer this much marketing expertise."

As part of the management agreement, The Hotel Guys has appointed Michael Cawdrey as the general manager of the property. Cawdrey brings to the Carmel Valley Lodge over 20 years of hotel experience. Most recently, he served as director of purchasing for the prestigious Clift Hotel in San Francisco. Previously, he was assistant director of food and beverage at the Clift, and had held various management positions with the Sorrento and Four Seasons Olympic hotels in Seattle, the Mauna Lani Resort in Hawaii, the Four Seasons in Philadelphia and the Regent in Washington, D.C.

The Carmel Valley Lodge is located 12 minutes inland from coastal Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula in sunny Carmel Valleycentral Californias "other wine country"and offers a year round country retreat with private cottages, suites and guests rooms, a heated pool and whirlpool spa, and a 1,200-square-foot conference center. For reservations in the U.S. and Canada, call 1-800-641-4646, or 408-659-2261.
