New Food and Beverage Team at the Doubletree Hotel 
at Allen Center in Houston
 
HOUSTON, TX - Aug. 7, 1998 -- The Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center, Houston has a new Food and Beverage Team. Meet the new Team:

Food Beverage Director, Glenn Dickerson, with 20 years in the hospitality business. His experience includes Hyatt Hotels, Ritz Carlton, Marriott and Doubletrees in Dallas and Houston. Most recently, Glenn came to the Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center from the Doubletree Campbell Center in Dallas.

Executive Chef, Mark Kusick, Texas Chef's Association Chef of the Year for 1995. Chef Kusick has 25 years of experience -- 16 of which are with Doubletree Hotels and Guest Suites. He apprenticed under the French brigade of the Hotel Meridien working with Chef Paul Bocuse and Jacques Maxima. Other involvements include current Director of the Texas Chef's Association, Houston Chapter of the American Culinary Education, former Chairman of the Texas State Membership, Co-Chairman for the Southwest Food Service Culinary Arts Competitions, works and assists on the program review board for the San Jacinto Community College Culinary Arts Program, active leader and member of the Sam Houston Area Boy Scouts program.

Sous Chef, Leo Wornowitcz, with 13 years experience began his career with Doubletree Intercontinental Airport as Executive Chef, worked at the Doubletree Post Oak as Sous Chef and has joined the Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center as Executive Sous Chef. He graduated from Luzrene Co. Community College and has a Food Manager's Certificate for the City of Houston and a Certificate for Professional Food, Sanitation and Service World. 

Sous Chef, Rick Cruz, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He is a member of the Gourmet Society of America and has over 11 years in the hospitality industry.

Director of Outlets, Peter Yeung, graduated from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel Restaurant Management - University of Houston, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. His experience includes Pappas Restaurants Inc. beginning as a Food Server and working his way to Floor Manager. He began with the Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center as Outlet Supervisor and was promoted to Director of Restaurants. Peter also is fluent in Cantonese and includes cooking and fine wines in his list of interests and hobbies. 

Director of Catering, Cheryl Alker, has six years in the industry and began her catering career as a Catering Sales Manager working the Social Market. She has joined our team now as Director of Catering and is most recently from the Westin Galleria and Westin Oaks Hotels. 

Banquet Manager, Albert Munoz, has been in the hotel industry for 12 years, with the Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center for two years and Banquet Manager for 8 months. Al graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. 

Convention Service Manager, Kathy Corbin, Caprile Capetillo, and Lisa Lange complete the Catering Team providing professional, experienced and gracious service.

With nearly 100 years of experience, the new Team is committed to providing the very best of service to all meetings and social functions held at the Doubletree. The hotel can handle meetings as small as six people as well as host a reception of 650 people -- and everything in between.

In addition to our new Team, the Doubletree Hotel at Allen Center completed a $4 million renovation of guestrooms in February 1998. All 350 guestrooms now boast new furniture, lighting fixtures, bedspreads, draperies, walls, tile, carpet and bathroom counters. Additions to the rooms include in-room coffee makers, hair dryers, speaker telephones with dataports and will soon have 25" televisions with many new services available through the television, and refreshment centers with safes.
