ASTA Agents Link With HotelView on the Internet
 
POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 31, 1998 -  HotelView Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visual  Data Corporation (Nasdaq: VDAT), today announced that the 27,000+ members of the American Society of Travel Agents, Inc. (ASTA), the world's largest and most prestigious travel trade organization, are now linked with HotelView(R) via their Web site http://www.ASTAnet.com.

ASTA's premier Internet site ASTAnet.com offers a link to HotelView(R), "because the organization recognizes the value that HotelView's Internet video tours provide travel agents and their customers," said Stephanie Kenyon, Vice President of Travel Technology at ASTA. "This is a win-win situation for ASTA and HotelView," Kenyon said. "HotelView offers agents an exciting sales tool to increase sales and provides members with training on how to use the product."

ASTA members who log onto ASTAnet.com now will be able to access HotelView and select from any one of the HotelView properties to view a video tour. These broadcast quality videos take potential travelers on an insider's tour of the hotel, and help travel agents close the sale by providing greater detail and excitement than is typically found on a Web site. A reciprocal link from www.hotelview.com to ASTAnet.com allows Internet visitors to HotelView's site the ability to search a comprehensive list of thousands of qualified ASTA members in 177 countries. HotelView benefits the consumer and travel agent by actually letting them see the property firsthand.

For the hotel, the HotelView program reduces its cost-per-prospect expense versus traditional media, improves the credibility of the message and increases the potential for conversion from prospect to guest.
