ATLANTA, May 4, 1998 - At its General Managers' Conference held this week in Atlanta, Ga., Holiday Hospitality announced the 1998 winners of the company's Hotel of the Year, Best of the Best, and Hotel Marketing Innovation Awards.
"Holiday Hospitality recognizes the value of providing consistent quality customer service to its guests. I am proud to honor these hotels and employees today, as the best in the business," said Thomas R. Oliver, chairman and CEO of Holiday Hospitality. "They have far exceeded our expectations of excellence and are among those who set the standard, not just for the company, but for all hotels in the industry."
Hotel of the Year Awards
Five hotels from the U.S. were awarded the Hotel of the Year honor.
A panel of senior management from the company's corporate headquarters
reviewed the top performing Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Crowne
Plaza hotels in the Americas region. To be eligible for the award, hotels
had to meet a specified-by-brand minimum February CQI (Combined Quality
Index)/QFI (Quality Failure Index) score and achieve the highest yield
index scores for their brand. This year's award-winning hotels are:

Best of the Best Awards
Additionally, 20 Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express hotel
employees received the Best of the Best award for their exemplary performance
at their hotel and within the community. Winners received a trip to attend
the General Managers' Conference in Atlanta, as well as a framed medallion
and a trophy. This year's Holiday Inn Best of the Best award winners are:

Hotel Marketing Innovation Awards
This year, four hotels were awarded The Hotel Marketing Innovation Award
for submitting the most creative marketing concepts. Programs were judged
by corporate senior marketing management and hospitality industry marketing
experts also were invited to participate in the evaluation and selection
