WASHINGTON, April 30, 1998 - Marriott
International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) announced it has converted the
Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco to a Renaissance hotel and designated it
as Marriott's 1,500th hotel worldwide.

A luxury 32-story hotel in downtown San Francisco featuring 1,008 guestrooms and 21 meeting rooms, which total 21,000 sq. ft. of function space. The new 1,008-room Renaissance hotel represents a major milestone as part of Marriott's goal to have 2,000 hotels by the year 2000. The Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel will operate as a franchise, owned and managed by San Francisco-based Park Lane Hotels International.
