Promus and Telman Sign Biggest Telecom Management Deal
in the Hotel Industry
---
HOUSTON, TX... June 1, 1998 One of the world's largest hotel companies, Promus Hotel Corporation (PHC), has signed a partnership agreement with Telman, the leading provider of telecommunications management for the hotel industry.

Memphis-based Promus Hotels' recent merger with Doubletree Hotels Corporation created the lodging industry's third largest revenue producer with more than 1,200 hotels, 177,000 rooms and approximately 40,000 employees. The merger also increased the number of company managed hotels from 110 to 335 and prompted customer - driven Promus to seek out a vendor who could bring them cost-effective and enhanced hotel telecommunications services.

Following a four-month vendor review, Telman was selected. "Promus wanted to work with a company that was very active in the hospitality industry and understood every aspect of hotel telecommunications," said Dave Hall, Director of Telecommunications for Promus. "By using Telman's resources, we are expecting to maintain a high level of customer service, just as the internal support provided. The support plan will have a very favorable impact on hotel financial performance." Promus will maintain a three-person internal telecommunications management team to manage the partnership, set strategic direction and define Promus' telecom standards.

Hall noted three key features that will be very beneficial: Optimizations that will produce a complete hardware and software inventory, assist in Y2000 compliance, and identify cost reduction and increased revenue opportunities; Project Management that will ensure properties get seasoned telecommunications project managers to implement PHC approved telecommunications equipment and network access; and Ongoing Support that will ensure properties get the day-to-day technical support to meet guest technology services and expectations, as well as resolve any issues concerning telecommunications billing, equipment, network access and other issues.

Dave Hall added, "With this new and creative partnership, Promus Hotel Corporation will receive high quality and cost-effective telecommunications support without building a huge internal support team. Partnerships like this one will increase the visibility of how telecommunications can have a major impact on a properties' financial performance and guest experience and satisfaction." Promus has a 100% guest satisfaction guarantee that drives all support activities.

Daniel Prosser, President/CEO of Telman states, "This is undoubtedly one of the most important technology developments in the hotel industry today. The result of the partnership between Promus and Telman will not only affect Promus' telecommunications efficiencies, but has the potential to transform overall guest satisfaction as well. We will literally be carving out a whole new future for telecommunications management for the hotel industry."

For twelve years, Telman has been inventing new ways of using information technology and managing telecommunications systems for the hospitality industry.

Telman's teleProfitTM is a breakthrough telecommunications system optimization and management program designed to transform mediocre telephone departments into high-performance telephone businesses producing 10-80% more profit. teleProfit services include optimization of current telephone operations, ongoing support (monthly management services, technical problem resolution, etc.) and special project management.
