Outrigger Surf Hotel Flies Best Western Flag

HONOLULU, HAWAII - Jan. 1998 -  The Outrigger Surf Hotel has joined  Best Western International, Inc., the world's largest hotel brand. Now, travelers to Hawaii can make their reservations for the Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel through Best Western International or Outrigger Hotels & Resorts. This also means that the hotel can take advantage of Best Western's worldwide marketing, advertising and reservation system.

"We're delighted that the Outrigger Surf Hotel has joined the Best Western family," said Tom Burke, vice president of operations for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and governor of Best Western International's Hawaii district. "Travelers familiar with the Best Western product now have another option for comfortable accommodations in Hawaii at reasonable prices. Plus, they will receive the warm and friendly service that Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has been providing its customers for the past 50 years."

According to Burke, that is exactly what Christiane Fuller of California experienced when she checked into the Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel this past December. "Christiane was our first guest to book through the Best Western reservation system. To commemorate her arrival, hotel manager Helene Arakaki and the hotel staff surprised Christiane with a welcoming ceremony, complete with a cake and Hawaiian song and dance."
Burke continued, "This was Christiane's first trip to Hawaii and when we asked her why she chose the Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel, she said it was because of her familiarity with the Best Western brand, and the price was right."

Located at 2280 Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki on the island of Oahu, the 251-room Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel recently completed a $400,000 refurbishment program to its guest rooms and suites. Improvements included new draperies, carpet, wall paper, artwork, lighting, and bathroom upgrades. Some furnishings were refinished, and electronic door locks were added.

The Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel features kitchenettes in all of its guest rooms and studio suites. Its two-bedroom penthouse suite has a full kitchen. Located in the heart of Waikiki, the Best Western Outrigger Surf Hotel is close to scores of shopping and dining opportunities. World-famous Waikiki Beach is just a few minutes walk away. The hotel is also convenient to all public transportation.
