Hilton Suites at Detroit Airport Sale

CHICAGO, IL (December 1997): Bill Gudenau, chairman of Hotel
Partners International, has confirmed the sale of the Detroit
Metro Hilton Suites in Romulus, Michigan. The 151-suite hotel
was sold by a private investor to CapStar Hotels, Inc. for $14.8 million.
Vice president John Karver of Hotel Partners' Chicago office represented
the seller.
The Hilton Suites is the sole all-suite hotel product in the airport
market. Detroit Metropolitan Airport is located immediately to the
south.
This transaction represents Hotel Partners' second Detroit Metro Airport
market hotel transaction in as many weeks. Tom Ives of the firm's
Atlanta office recently represented the seller in the sale of the Shoney's
Inn Detroit Airport, located nearby.
