Fisher Island Club Names Samuel Garcia Hotel Manager
of the Fisher Island Club Hotel

MIAMI, May 20, 2013Fisher Island Club CEO Bernard Lackner announced that Samuel Garcia has joined as the hotel manager of Fisher Island Club Hotel, a newly-renovated boutique hotel situated within the exclusive private island community located off Miami Beach, Florida.

Garcia brings to Fisher Island Club Hotel more than 15 years of world-class hospitality experience. In his new position at Fisher Island Club—which recently completed a $60 million renovation to its Hotel and luxurious amenities—he will focus on strengthening operations, while working to enhance the five-star guest experience.

Garcia has served on management teams for leading hospitality companies and hotels, including Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, and The Breakers Palm Beach. Most recently, he worked with Benchmark Hospitality Management in spearheading the operations management of the residential component of ONE Bal Harbour Resort and Spa.

He previously served as the liaison between Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) and De Soleil Management for the Z Ocean Hotel, where he was instrumental in elevating the hotel’s global standing within the IHG from No. 89 to No. 1, and achieved a 96.4 percent compliance rating on the IHG Inspection report. In 2010 and 2011, he also helped to rebrand the former Versace mansion on Miami Beach, Casa Casuarina, into an ultra-luxury boutique hotel known as The Villa by Barton G.

Hailed for developing a highly-sought-after guest services model, which includes recruiting, staff training and development, and implementation of policies and best practices, Garcia has established himself as a leader in facilitating highly-productive and profitable businesses within the luxury hospitality sector.

“As we celebrate the rebirth of Fisher Island Club Hotel, it is the perfect time to welcome Samuel as Hotel Manager,” said Lackner. “His vast experience and industry knowledge make him an unparalleled candidate to assist in further elevating the already high service standards of our exquisite vacation destination.”

As part of a $60 million renovation to the Fisher Island Club, Fisher Island Club Hotel—a member of Leading Hotels of the World—recently unveiled a transformation inclusive of extensive design upgrades.  Additionally, the property now consists of a reduced inventory of 15 luxurious guest accommodations, all situated around the baronial, Mediterranean-style Vanderbilt Mansion.  Complete with a multitude of newly-enhanced luxury amenities, Fisher Island Club Hotel offers a new full-service spa, salon and fitness center, Beach Club, Tennis Facility, Golf Clubhouse, historic Vanderbilt Mansion, two Marina’s, and other key assets, which were renovated for the first time in nearly 30 years.
