Playa Hotels & Resorts Issues a Correction Regarding Reports About
its Intent to Purchase The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hill Jamaica

FAIRFAX, Va., May 14, 2013 -- Playa Hotels & Resorts would like to correct media statements that appeared in various press outlets indicating that The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hill Jamaica has been sold to Playa Hotels & Resorts.

Bruce Wardinski, Chairman and CEO for Playa Hotels & Resorts, issued the following statement: "Playa Hotels & Resorts is in negotiations to acquire the hotel but the sale is not complete. It was inopportune that the intent to purchase was reported prematurely as a completed sale. Unfortunately, because of the nature of the negotiations we cannot comment any further at this time about the transaction. If and when the sale is complete, we will be able to issue additional information regarding future plans for this prestigious resort."

Playa Hotels & Resorts was established in 2006 to invest in the acquisition and development of all-inclusive beachfront resorts in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Presently the Company owns 17 properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. These properties operate under the Barceló brand which is owned by Barceló Hotels & Resorts, and under the Dreams and Secrets brands, which are owned by AMResorts. Playa Hotels & Resorts is headquartered in Fairfax VA. For more information visit: www.PlayaResorts.com.
