Orlando,
Florida, May 30, 2013—The American
Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute
(EI) has signed a Global
Academic Partner (GAP)
agreement with Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management
College
(LRJJ) in Shanghai, China. The school is a branch campus of Les Roches,
Bluche
in Switzerland. It is accredited through its parent campus in
Switzerland by
the Commission on Institutes of Higher Education (CIHE) of the New
England
Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The Shanghai Education
Bureau also
accredits Les Roches Jin Jiang locally.
“At LRJJ we expose our students to a broad range of subjects covering inter-related areas of the hospitality industry in English and/or Chinese. Students learn through a combination of theoretical and practical work within the College and through a regular period of internship at a recognized hotel, restaurant or related institution,” explained Dr. Sacha Stocklin, academic dean. “We teach a variety of traditional liberal arts college courses at different academic levels and use EI textbooks for industry-specific training in Rooms Division Management, Financial Management, Hospitality Marketing, Facilities Management, and Food and Beverages Management. However, we don't follow a specific EI program at the moment.” According to Dr. Stocklin, the school’s objective is to train and educate students to a high level of competence in order to foster a successful career in the hospitality and service industry. The international learning environment at the College promotes awareness and understanding of national and cultural differences and encourages students to work together to improve their interpersonal skills. Graduates of Les Roches Jin Jiang will have developed aptitude in a wide range of technical, organizational and administrative skills allowing them to navigate through the ranks of hotel management successfully. “LRJJ believes that the agreement between EI and us will be mutually beneficial for students since both parties have great brands, international reputation and educational expertise in the hospitality industry. LRJJ is currently delivering traditional college programs as well as industry training programs and intends to use not only EI books but also establish a partnership in the delivery of certificates from EI as well as LRJJ,” said Mr. Bingyan Yu, President of LRJJ. The school has already conducted a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE®) workshop and exam session for members of its faculty.
