Philip Goldfarb, Fontainebleau Miami Beach President & COO,
Honored with Excellence in Tourism Award

– On Sat., June 1, Philip Goldfarb, President and Chief Operating Officer of the legendary Fontainebleau Miami Beach was presented with the Excellence in Tourism Award at the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce 91st Annual Dinner Gala. Goldfarb was selected as award recipient for his major contributions to the city’s tourism industry, including the instrumental role he has played in the multi-million dollar re-development of Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach has been a revered landmark for nearly 60 years and, under Goldfarb’s leadership, has continued its legacy of innovation in entertainment, art, design, dining and hospitality.  During is tenure, Goldfarb has driven the success of the resort’s world famous LIV Nightclub and signature dining concepts Gotham Steak, Hakkasan and Scarpetta, as well as the renovation of the all-suite Trésor tower.

In addition, Goldfarb has overseen the launch and growth of the resort’s BleauLive entertainment platform, which combines musical performances with immersive weekend getaways for one-of-a-kind vacation experiences. Since its launch, BleauLive has hosted some of the world’s top musical artists including Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more.

“After years of overseeing operations at the corporate level, I am thrilled to be at the helm of the twenty-acre Fontainebleau resort and to receive this award,” said Philip Goldfarb, President and COO, Fontainebleau Miami Beach.  “I’m proud of the team I have assembled and the continued success of this historic iconic hotel.  It’s an honor to be recognized by such a respected organization and my peers in the Miami Beach business community.”

“The Fontainebleau put Miami Beach on the map in the 1950s and continues to be one of the world’s most renowned, sensational destination resorts,” said Alan Lips, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Chairman. “We are excited to recognize Phil for spearheading the ongoing legacy of one of the city’s crown jewels.”

Goldfarb has decades of experience in the hospitality industry, including more than seven years spent with Fontainebleau parent Turnberry Associates and 13 years at Doubletree Hotels Corporation.  He is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management and currently presides on the school’s distinguished Industry Board and has recently been appointed its Vice Chairman. He was awarded the Hospitality school’s “Torchbearer Award” as well as the University’s prestigious “FIU Medallion” in 2007.

The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence in Tourism Award is presented to notable individuals or companies whose insight, leadership and notability has contributed significantly to the tourism industry. The 91st Annual Dinner Gala was held on Saturday, June 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  Other awards presented were the Outstanding Achievement Award, Distinguished Service Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
