Neisja Jones Promoted to General Manager of the 360-key Mainsail Suites Hotel
& Conference Center in Tampa, Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (April 10, 2013) – Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center recently announced the promotion of Neisja Jones to general manager. As general manager, Jones will lead a staff of 100 and oversee day-to-day operations of the 120-room Mainsail Suites and the newly opened 240-unit Mainsail Apartment Homes, located on the same property in Tampa, Fla.

“Neisja has been a loyal and valued member of the Mainsail team since 2001,” said Joe Collier, president of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “She has helped the company grow and evolve as we dealt with a tough economy. We’re confident she is the right choice to lead and transition the Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center and Mainsail Apartment Homes into a successful future.”

Jones spent 11 years as director of sales at the Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center, where she developed group and transient market strategies, directed the team of sales and catering managers and oversaw all marketing efforts. When the Mainsail Conference Center opened in 2009, she developed a sales team and implemented innovative strategies to maximize the facility.  Prior to her work with Mainsail, Jones worked as a sales manager at the Tampa Marriot Waterside and the Marriott event booking center. She is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Westshore Alliance, Upper Tampa Bay Chamber and the Greater Tampa Bay Chamber.

The 360-room Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center recently converted 240 of their one- and two-bedroom suites into long-term residential units, now known as Mainsail Apartment Homes.  The complex also offers furnished temporary corporate housing through ExecuStay®. The remaining 120-suites continue to function as hotel inventory, along with the existing 17,000-square-foot special event center.  The conversion includes $1.5 million in interior upgrades to enhance the apartments and suites, as well as the clubhouse and lobby. The upgrades are scheduled to be completed by August.

The centrally located Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center and Mainsail Apartment Homes are just minutes from a number of family attractions, national sporting venues, world-class shopping areas, historic districts, top-rated golf courses, and Tampa’s bustling downtown area and waterfront Convention Center.  Amenities include outdoor free-form heated pool and Jacuzzi; spacious fitness center; guest laundry facility; convenience and sundry store; patio and barbecue area; and full-service Latitudes Pub & Grill for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With more than 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting and function space, Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center is able to accommodate meetings, conferences and special events for groups of up to 700.  On-site catering and AV teams are also available to service all groups and events.  The property is owned and operated by Mainsail Lodging & Development.
