Howard Spittle Appointed as General Manager for the
Magdalena Grand Beach Resort in Tobago


SCARBOROUGH, Tobago (April 12, 2013)
− Magdalena Grand Beach Resort (http://www.MagdalenaGrand.com) in Tobago has named Howard Spittle as its new general manager.  Spittle brings over 20 years of Caribbean hotel industry experience to the resort in his new position, which he started on April 8.

"We are pleased to announce the addition of Howard Spittle to the Magdalena Grand family," saidNikolas Eastwick-Field, principal, efm Hospitality, the resort's operator.  "Howard brings an extensive resume of high-profile resort experience throughout the Caribbean and we are confident that he is the right person to lead the Magdalena Grand as we embark on this new chapter," he added.

Spittle's hotel industry career has covered all facets of hotel operations and sales and marketing in diverse locations from city properties to resort hotels.  Recently he was a consultant with an eco-resort in Port Antonio, Jamaica and prior to that spent seven years with Sandals and Beaches Resorts where he served as general manager of Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club (now Beaches Ocho Rios, Jamaica), Beaches Negril Resort and Spa (Jamaica), and Beaches Sandy Bay (Jamaica).

Spittle's previous positions include general manager of Point Village Resort (Jamaica) for seven years, general manager of SeaCastles Resort (Jamaica), resident manager at The Tryall Club (Jamaica), resident manager of Port de Plaisance Resort and Casino (St. Maarten) and resident manager of Little Dix Bay (British Virgin Islands).

He holds a Master of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Revans/JHTA Institute of Management and has completed an Executive Doctor of Management with Global University of Lifelong Learning (GULL) under the auspices of the Sandals' Corporate University.  Spittle is a Certified Hotel Administrator, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Fellow of the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Magdalena Grand Beach Resort features 178 rooms with 22 one or two-bedroom suite combinations.  The spacious suites offer a private balcony, hot tub and parlor containing a pull-out sofa-bed.  The resort's two-bedroom suites have a king-size and two double beds while the resort's one-bedroom suites include the option of either one king-size or two double beds.
