SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica -March 6, 2013 - Hilton Garden Inn®, the award-winning brand of upscale yet affordable hotels, broke ground on their latest hotel project in Costa Rica, the Hilton Garden Inn San José Sabana. The hotel, which is expected to be completed in April of 2015, is owned by Stanley Rattner, president, Desarrolladora Parque la Sabana.
The official ceremony took place on Monday, February 11, with the Mayor of San José, Johnny Araya, Alan Roberts, vice president, brand performance and sales support, Hilton Garden Inn, senior executives from Hilton Worldwide, local dignitaries and the hotel and business community in attendance.
Simón Suárez, Chief Development Representative - Central America and Caribbean, offered remarks on behalf of the brand, "Hilton Garden Inn alone has more than 560 hotels open around the globe, with another 120 hotels in our pipeline. That kind of growth certainly wouldn't be possible without the partnership of our development partners like Mr. Stanley Rattner, president of Desarrolladora Parque la Sabana."
Located at the corner of Boulevard de Rohrmoser and Ave. Las Américas, the 118-room Hilton Garden Inn San José Sabana will be part of Sabana Business Center, a 20-story mixed-use complex comprising offices, retail stores and shared parking. The hotel will take up floors 12 to 20, with food and beverage services and over 10,000 sq. feet of meeting space.
"We are pleased to be able to deliver the industry-leading Hilton Garden Inn to the San José market," said Adrian Kurre, global head, Hilton Garden Inn. "The Hilton Garden Inn San José Sabana will be part of an exciting mixed development while still adhering to the high standards for which the brand is known. This complements our international growth strategy well, specifically in the Central and South American markets."
The Hilton Garden Inn San José Sabana will be the brand's second hotel in Costa Rica, joining the Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport. Currently, the brand has four hotels open and seven hotels in the development pipeline in Central and South America.
