Newport Beach, CA - January 11, 2013 -- Maxim Hotel Brokerage sold 17 hotels in the later months of 2012 with total value in excess of $175 million. The transactions included the 384-room Hilton San Antonio Airport Hotel, the 347-room Hilton Kansas City Airport Hotel, the 360-room Hotel Suites of America in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 282-room Crowne Plaza in Richmond, Virginia, and a 12-hotel select service portfolio (Hilton and Marriott brands) located in the midwest and southeast. Maxim represented the Seller in each transaction, and the Purchasers included institutional investors as well as regional owner/operators. Harry Pflueger, Principal of Maxim Hotel Brokerage commented, “Our sales were a combination of fully marketed as well as off-market deals. Many purchasers prefer off-market deals and sellers realize that they can often get a fair price with a more efficient process. Whether fully marketed or off-market, we have definitely seen an uptick in activity and we foresee it continuing into 2013.” Jack Carr, also a Principal at Maxim, added, “2012 was a good year and our clients included some of the largest institutions in the country as well as individual owner/operators.” Maxim has several active listings expected to sell including the 111-room Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico (Call For Offers on January 30), 199-room Comfort Inn Paradise Rd. in Las Vegas, Nevada, 63-room La Casa del Zorro Resort in Borrego Springs, California, 212-room Hotel Scottsdale, as well as several off-market opportunities.
