GHM Names Anthony Gill as General Manager for
The Nam Hai Hoi An in Vietnam

HOI AN, Vietnam (Jan. 7, 2013)
— Less than a month after celebrating its sixth anniversary, Vietnam's most distinguished resort is raising a glass to a new face and a renovated space.

The Nam Hai Hoi An welcomes Anthony Gill, who takes over as general manager after spending almost two years overseeing La Residence Hotel & Spa, another lauded hotel on Vietnam's up-and-coming central coast.

Gill's arrival comes at the same time The Nam Hai pulls the curtains back on a refurbished Beach Restaurant, a popular poolside dining venue that now features a sleek glass roof.

Gill's hospitality career began in 1998 with Chateau Elan, an acclaimed winery just outside of Atlanta. The 33-year-old Briton from Newcastle has also worked at prestigious properties in England, Scotland, Monaco, Qatar and the Maldives.

His relationship with Vietnam began in January 2007, when he was appointed executive assistant manager of Evason Ana Mandara in Nha Trang. Three years later, he earned his first general manager role at Life Heritage Resort Hoi An.

From one of Southeast Asia’s most exquisitely preserved old seaports, he moved 100 kilometres up the coast to the former imperial capital of Vietnam, where he took charge of La Residence Hotel & Spa in Hue.

“The central coast of Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most intriguing destinations, from its cultural assets to its beaches, from its cuisine to its golf and a plethora of other recreational opportunities,” said Gill. “The Nam Hai, modelled as it is on the garden homes of Old Hue, is a transporting experience all its own.”

Since opening in late December of 2006, The Nam Hai has established a reputation as one of the best resorts anywhere. Its most recent accolade came last month, when Travel + Leisure readers named it to the 'T+L 500', an annual compendium of the world's top 500 hotels.
