88th Annual Hotel Ezra Cornell, a Student-Run Conference, Confirms Speaker
Lineup of Hotel Industry Icons Set for April 4-7, 2013

February 20, 2012 - Hotel Ezra Cornell is a student-run conference that is held in April each year by students of The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. The conference attracts hospitality industry leaders and school alumni, faculty, and students to the Cornell campus and the Statler Hotel for a weekend of networking, education, entertainment, and culinary experiences. The top leadership of Leading Hotels of the World, Hubs1, Ritz Carlton, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Caesars India Development, Prestige Cruise Holdings, Veolia Transportation, World Travel Holdings, and Fischer Travel Enterprise are among the many featured speakers and panelists. 
 
Ted Teng, President and CEO of Leading Hotels of the World will be one of the many distinguished speakers. Throughout his 30-year career in the hospitality industry, Mr. Teng has been responsible for the growth of some of the most prominent brands in the world. In his position, Mr. Teng oversees and directs all aspects of business strategy, operations, and performance growth for the premier luxury hospitality organization.

Teddy Zhang, a graduate of Cornell’s Hotel School, will also be speaking at the conference.  Mr. Zhang is the founder of HUBS1— a global distribution system for the hotel market in the China. This system allows hotels to operate their booking system in real time and make any changes or updates that are needed. Zhang has held many hospitality positions with Marriott, Accor, and Hilton. Both Ted Teng and Teddy Zhang would be heading a speaker series called Ted’s Talk at the conference.
 
Another prominent speaker at the conference would be Jim Abrahamson, CEO of Interstate Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Abrahamson has had experience in many divisions of hospitality such as operations, development, and franchising. He is also the secretary/treasurer of the AH&LA Board of Directors, a member of HotelPAC Committee, and the first vice chair of the U.S. Travel Association.
 
The speaker line-up for HEC also includes Brad Tolkin, Co-Chairman and CEO, World Travel Holdings; Mark Joseph, CEO and Vice Chairman, Veolia Transportation; Frank Del Rio, Chairman and CEO, Prestige Cruise Holdings; Lisa Holladay, VP of Brand and Guest Experience, Ritz Carlton; Neera Chanani, South Asia Head, Caesars Entertainment; Philip Ho, VP, Asia Pacific, Leading Hotels of the World; Stacy Fischer, Preident, Fischer Travel Enterprise, to name a few.
 
To hear the insight from our speakers, various panels have been planned. These panels will focus on various trends in the hospitality industry such as Emerging Markets, Women in Hospitality Leadership, and Land/Air/Sea.

In addition to the guest speakers that will be attending the conference, there are many other educational, leisure, and culinary activies that have been planned. Students have been working hard to build a program that will be intellectually stimulating, exciting, and inspirational for the attendees.
