(November 16, 2012) – Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the largest full-service beachfront resort on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, announces the appointment of Wendy Valdez as Executive Meetings Manager.  In her new role, Valdez will specifically handle all groups that require 25 rooms or less, including board retreats and executive meetings.

She will also oversee groups that need meeting space or rooms exclusively.

An award-winning sales manager with 25 years’ in the industry, Valdez has most recently worked as the SMERF Sales Manager and Senior Sales Manager at Embassy Suites in Destin, Fla. In May 2011, Valdez received the very prestigious Worldwide Hilton Spirit Award.

Valdez takes pride in her strong community involvement outside of her career. Through her work with military personnel as a Destin March of Dimes board of directors’ member, she was recently nominated and received the title of 372nd training squadron’s “Honorary 33rd Fighter Wing Commander” for the 2012-2013 year. These honorary commanders are civilians chosen to bridge the gap between the military and other civilians in hopes to bring a greater understanding to the community about the military and their commitment to protecting freedom. As an honorary commander, Valdez experienced a ride in an F16 and will also go through a parachute training course.
