BRETTON WOODS, NH (November 7, 2012) - The Omni Bretton Arms Inn is unveiling a completely new design, just in time for the start of New Hampshire's ski season. The redesign is part of the Omni Mount Washington Resort's multiphase $70 million resort wide renovation. "The Omni Bretton Arms Inn transformation is an exciting chapter for the property," said Stephen Hilliard, Managing Director of the Omni Mount Washington Resort. "We're pleased to continue our commitment to guests by providing the highest standards in accommodations and service." The renovation of the cozy 34-room Omni Bretton Arms Inn was led by the Van Dresser Company. Their goal was to create a warm, welcoming environment to bring the beautiful landscape indoors with fresh interiors providing a classic New England Inn feel. Design palettes summon nature with earthy greens inspired by the White Mountain National Forest, soft sky blues and colors of New England's fall foliage. New corridor carpeting is adorned with images of spring and fall leaves as well as other naturalistic elements on a backdrop of deep rich plaid. Antique-style furnishings featuring roll arm upholstered chairs, turned legs and dark brown leathers hearken back to the origins of the Bretton Arms Inn, which was built as a private home in 1896 and began welcoming guests in 1907. The Inn's natural color scheme continues in the guest rooms. Window treatments are arrayed with images of fern leaves and fiddleheads. Throws and quilts in navy and herringbone from the Andrew Morgan Collection decorate guest beds. In the bathrooms, pedestal sinks and Cararra marble bathtubs complete the classic feel. New artwork can also be seen throughout the Inn. Guest rooms showcase White Mountain postcards dating back to the 1920s and 1930s with striking portrayals of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range, as well as handwritten notes from former visitors. In public spaces, artwork includes watercolor images of local flora and fauna. An interpretive piece by artist Carol White of the Inn's surrounding landscape was commissioned for the lobby. Within the Inn's intimate four-diamond Bretton Arms Dining Room, designers installed large banquettes with scalloped backs. The inviting atmosphere was also enhanced with updates to the dining room's original fireplace, which was constructed using smooth river stones from the nearby Ammonoosuc River. The renovation's influence can also be seen in the kitchen. Inspired by the Inn's new décor, Bretton Arms Chef Matt LaRose along with the resort's Executive Chef Eddie Swetz will introduce a series of seasonal menus that reflect the North Country setting, which was the source for the Inn's design. Restaurant guests can enjoy fresh seasonal cuisine sourced from local New Hampshire suppliers. New signature dishes will include Braised Veal Cheeks with Parmesan and Roasted Garlic Risotto, topped with Crispy Sweet Potato Canapé, as well as Pan Roasted Scallops Served with Roasted Red Pepper Couscous and Grilled Baby Artichokes. Outside the dining room, the bar area was expanded to create a more open floor plan and welcomed a new L-shaped bar comprised of handsome millwork and dark woods. A wine bar was also crafted to display more than fifty wines by the glass and tasting flights. Afternoon wine tastings offer a personalized experience, as the Inn's sommelier introduces guests to various blends and brands in an intimate and relaxed setting.
