MIAMI, FL (December 7, 2012) -- The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has promoted Sonia Fong to Associate Vice President of Convention Sales, announced William D. Talbert, III, CDME, GMCVB president and CEO.

"During the 11 years since Sonia joined the GMCVB, she has taken on more responsibilities in her account load, department projects and management of sales staff,” said Talbert.  “She has consistently met and exceeded her sales goals and objectives and along the way demonstrated her professionalism internally and externally.  She is an accomplished member of our convention sales team.”

Fong began her tenure at the GMCVB as a Convention Sales Manager in 2001 and has progressively advanced to positions of increased responsibilities.   In addition to her convention sales and management responsibilities, she has assisted the GMCVB Marketing Department in developing the Miami brand in the Chinese market.

Fong is a graduate of Florida International University (FIU) where she earned a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management.  In Spring 2013, Fong will receive her Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University.  She is fluent in Chinese, Spanish and English.
