San Juan, Puerto Rico (September 6, 2012) – The Isla Verde Beach Resort introduces Executive Chef Ricky Rivera as the culinary leader of all food and beverage outlets of the Puerto Rico resort destination.

Drawing on his passion for Caribbean cuisine, Chef Rivera effortlessly marries organic ingredients with Puerto Rican flair to create distinctive menu items for venues at the property.

As Executive Chef, Rivera will oversee Salsa Restaurant, which serves traditional Puerto Rican flavors in a fiesta buffet during breakfast and dinner; Papaya Oceanfront Grill, the resort’s lauded swim-up bar and grill; Banana Ice Cream Parlor & Café for the kid in every guest; Sirena Restaurant, which prepares modern Caribbean fusion cuisine amidst unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean; and the recently opened Sirena Terrace, an outdoor beachfront bar serving tapas and tropical cocktails.

A seasoned Chef, Rivera brings nearly 15 years of experience to the Isla Verde Beach Resort. Part of the Isla Verde team for several years, Chef Rivera started as a “First Chef,” climbing up the culinary ladder before his recent promotion to Executive Chef. He previously worked at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and the Ritz-Carlton San Juan, and is a 1994 graduate of the Universidad Metropolitana in Cupey, Puerto Rico.
