Association
International (HSMAI) today announces
Meeting Professionals International (MPI) will host two sessions at
HSMAI’s MEET
National,
the meeting and event-planning industry’s premier show focused
on Meetings, Events, Education and Technology, Sept. 5 and 6 in
Washington, D.C., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
As part of the partnership between HSMAI and MPI announced in July, MPI provides its leading education for meeting planners at select HSMAI events, and HSMAI provides its renowned training and professional development for sales and marketing professionals at choice MPI events. The first activation of the partnership took place at MPI’s World Education Congress (WEC) in St. Louis in July, where HSMAI hosted two tracks entitled, “Hotel Sales Giants Talk About What’s Keeping Them Up at Night” and “ Sales and Revenue Management: Managing the Relationship.” “We enjoyed taking part in MPI’s World Education Congress as the inaugural launch of our partnership and wanted to offer attendees of HSMAI’s MEET additional educational offerings,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “We think our expertise in hospitality sales and marketing training and development and MPI’s added expertise in education sessions for meeting planners will provide increased benefits for both HSMAI and MPI members attending HSMAI’s MEET.” MPI’s hosted sessions at HSMAI’s MEET National include:

private
desert reception with keynote speaker Janine Driver, also attended by
Certified Meeting Professionals (CMP).
Additional details about the new joint HSMAI and MPI membership will be announced at HSMAI’s MEET National on Wednesday, Sept. 5. HSMAI’S MEET National will also feature:

collecting
non-perishable food donations for SOME
(So Others Might
Eat) at the show on Sept. 5 and 6, and anyone planning to attend
is asked
to bring their donations to the show. SOME has
been serving the homeless and poor in Washington, D.C., for 40 years.
They
provide daily meals and programs that can break the cycle of
homelessness.
