Sept. 06, 2012--Construction on a new 860-room, $110 million hotel started today on Fort Benning's Main Post. The Fort Benning Army Lodge is being built on a field behind the Benning Conference Center off Ingersoll Street. It will replace lodging that's now offered in Building 399, Olson Hall, through the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. Construction of the 450,000 square-foot hotel is expected to be completed in 2014. With a Spanish Mission architectural themw, the hotel features 740-extended stay rooms, 60 standard rooms and 60 suites.
