GHM Signs Agreement to Manage The Chedi Nusa Penida, a 100-villa Resort
Under Development on an Island Southeast of Bali, Indonesia

Developer, Singapore's Sinni Villas, Plans a 2015
Opening

SINGAPORE (18 Sept. 2012) — GHM is strengthening its foothold in Indonesia with an agreement to manage The Chedi Nusa Penida, a 100-villa resort scheduled to open in 2015 on a secluded island ten kilometres southeast of Bali.

Developed by Singapore's Sinni Villas, the exclusive enclave on Nusa Penida will occupy 5.3 hectares of a sloped hillside overlooking tranquil Crystal Bay, one of Southeast Asia’s premier diving sites, renowned for its pristine waters and coral reefs.

Construction of the singular project is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year.

“In this day and age, it’s difficult to find the kind of seclusion The Chedi Nusa Penida will offer,” said Clement Koh, GHM’s vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s where anyone who dreams of total privacy in a tropical paradise would want to go.”

To bring to life Spanish designer Ismael Pindado's vision of the elevated, egg-shaped villas — a concept inspired by Nusa Penida’s standing as a bird sanctuary — Sinni Villas has hired Cubillo Y Esteban, a Madrid-based engineering firm with 25 years’ experience in the business.

The master plan for The Chedi Nusa Penida also calls for private helicopter and yacht services, with each villa boasting panoramic Indian Ocean views. For those interested in owning a piece of this paradise, the villas are also available for purchase.

GHM currently operates eight luxury hotels worldwide, including two on Bali: The Legian in Seminyak and The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud.

The Chedi Nusa Penida is one of several Chedis that GHM plans to launch in the next three years. The Chedi Club Suzhou (China) and The Chedi Andermatt (Switzerland) are expected to open in 2013. The other properties scheduled to open by 2015 include The Chedi Tamouda Bay (Morocco), The Chedi Taiping Lake (China) and The Chedi Khorfakkan in Sharjah (UAE).
